Spiritual enlightenment thru the use of drugs?

I have never done it but I would like to try it. My view is that it could be useful in a spiritual context. I think the government is against it because of the nonspiritual ways that the chemicals are used. If people stopped using drugs there would be a lot of unemployed policeman.
