Do you think white tiles or vinyl would look good on the floor in the living room? or too cold/clinical?

i know its unusual to have floor tiles in the living room but i think more white may "open up" the space. the walls are white, woodwork is black and furniture is dark brown. i've got old pine-coloured laminate floor down at the moment but it's geting damaged and looks cheap/common
