Who's a good newer author to read?

I mostly read works from the mid-19th to mid-20th century and would like to know of some newer authors to read. Some authors I like are C.S. Lewis, H.G. Wells, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Jules Verne, James Hilton, Bram Stoker, Gaston Leroux, William Hope Hodgson.
